June is First-party free?

For US and Australia that is.
Apparently Nintendo have announced that there will be no first party releases in June (except for Brawl here).

According to thewire, and NOA spokesperson said, "Nintendo does not, in fact, have any first-party games releasing in June. We continue to enjoy strong third-party support for both Wii and Nintendo DS. In June alone, titles such as "Guitar Hero" for the DS and "Lego Indiana Jones," "Rock Band" and "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith" are all scheduled to come out for Wii".

My Birthday

Today is my Birthday! And to celebrate I'll be getting some more Wii points and I'll get Super Mario Bros on the virtual console.
(oh yeah and that's not my cake up there!)

The Month that was (May)

Another big month for Wonderful Nintendo!

(ps- My birthday tomorrow!)

No storage for you!

Unfortunately, the Wii isn't a powerhouse. We can handle it when it comes to graphics, but what about storage?

Nintendo have announced they have 100 Wii Ware titles lined up, but how will all of them fit on your Wii?
There aren't many options. You could put some channels or VC games on an SD card when your not using them, or you could delete them and download them again (free of charge) when you want them.

Nintendo definitely need to solve this problem.

New Wario Land game in the Making???

A new Wario Land game rumor has been floating around, but now we know it's real. the game is titled Wario Land Shake!
Heck! We even have a release date!
7/24/2008 in Japan.

It's a fully 2D Wario game that will include shake controls!
According to the NeoGAFfers, there will also be 20 stages (taking in jungle, ruins, desert, and ocean locations), vehicles such as rockets and submarines, but no multiplayer. As for the Shake in the title, that refers to a whole range of actions that can be performed with the Wiimote -- by shaking your controller, you'll be able to uncover hidden locations, shake enemies (who then dispense coins), and much more.

Want more? You got more!~

Rabbids TV Party

Another new Rabbids game is in the making titled: Rabbids TV Party.
This one uses the Wii Balance board for it's minigames, and from the trailer above, I reckon it looks pretty cool.
the minigames seem to be based on TV Shows, and the first minigame shown has you controlling it with your but!(just watch, you'll get it)
Having completely dropped 'Rayman' From the title, is this going to become it's own series and let the Rayman series just die off?

Nintendo Channel Review

Today the Nintendo Channel launched in Australia, and I thought: "Hey lets review this"!

Over the next few weeks I will be reviewing as many Wii Channels as possible, but only the ones that require WI-FI. These reviews are basically just to show people if the channels are worth the space or Wii Points.

Name: Nintendo Channel
Cost: Zilch
Handiness: 8/10
The Nintendo Channel has received a bit of mehs and whatevers from some people because of it's lack of content, but just like a spring flower: It can grow!

The first time you open the channel you will see a video showing off the latest game trailers, gameplay videos and interviews. This is great to keep you up to date on everything that's been going on.
My favorite thing about th channel is the videos. But when you watch for the first time they can take a little while to load.

Past the videos you can go to the find titles for you section. This is where you can search for any game you want by category or name. Once you find what your looking for it gives you a (very) brief summary of the game and other information. From that page you can also see what videos of the game have been made, and if it's a virtual console or Wii Ware title, you can download it at the press of a button!

Next up is the feedback section. The Wii knows if you've played a game more than an hour and brings up a list of those games.
You can give your feedback on those games. The feedback requires information such as gender, age, if it's for casual or hardcore, if it's better to play alone or with friends. And then you can give a rating.

So when you search by category you can search by the rating.

Lats but not least is the DS Demo Download service. This simply allows you to pick a demo off the channel, have it search for your DS, Do Download play on your DS, and then you get a free Demo!!!
This is great in my opinion, but there are only four games at the moment and they're all pretty old.
So overall I think this is the best channel by far. Sure it needs work, but if you check back each week and stay connected, your sure to get a surprise!

Wii Forcast Channel Review

Over the next few weeks I will be reviewing as many Wii Channels as possible, but only the ones that require WI-FI. These reviews are basically just to show people if the channels are worth the space or Wii Points.

Name: Forcast Channel
Cost: Zilch
Handiness: 7/10

everyone needs to know the the weather. It's a necessity. But it's available everywhere these days. On TV, on the internet, even on phones. But is it worth getting on Wii?

The forecast channel should be built in if you haven't already updated, so I guess there is no real answer to that question.

As soon as you enter the channel your greeted with the current temperature for your area, but it can be updated every hour, so you get the closest temperature to the current time. This means that the temperature can be very wrong and will fool you if you don't look at the temperature times.

In the corner of the screen you see 'Globe'. This zooms out and shows the entire Earth in a Google Earth type way.
You can grab the Earth and spin it around just for your amusement.
It shows you the weather of so many pointless places. Who would want to see the weather in Antarctica?!

When you click on one of the of the cities, you get to see the weather there as well.

If you want your able to see the five day forecast. Now I have to be honest with you. This is far from accurate. Most of the time the predictions are completely wrong, but the current weather is always right of course.

It also tells you the UV rating if your interested (you should be)

So overall, I think the forecast channel is fine to see the current weather, but pretty average overall.

Wii Folder Rennovation!

The great site Wii Folder has renovated into a blog just like this one!

It's pretty cool, and since it's a gaming blog I will place a link to it on the sidebar on the left.

PS3 Will Beat Wii?

This graph is a prediction by CNET.

It just shows what they think the sales of the Next-Gen consoles will be in the next five years.
And to say the least: It doesn't look good.

In the year 2012, the PS3 is predicted to sell the most, and the 360 is predicted to sell the least.

I personally don't know if the PS3 will sell more than the Wii in five years, but I do know that the Wii totally owned the PS3 in all the other years!

Tiny magazine scans reveal Dragonball DS

Cool, a new Dragon ball game on DS would be nice, especially a 3D one.

We don't know much about it yet, but it will have phantom hourglass-like controls.

Expect a review when it comes out.

Like tiny scans? Then check these out:

And the best selling wii game in Japan is-

Wii Sports!
Well obviously, the game comes with the Wii, so anyone who bought a Wii also bought Wii Sports.

It would be the same in every country, but what about the other games?

Here are the best selling Wii Games in Japan

Wii Sports - 2,979,275 units sold total
Wii Play - 2,368,967 units sold total
Wii Fit - 2,038,730 units sold total
Smash Bros. Brawl - 1,620,119 units sold total
Mario Party 8 - 1,254,542 units sold total
Mario Kart Wii - 1,227,169 units sold total

Wow, if Brawl came out on launch it would definitely be second.

Day of Disaster never coming?

The Wii Game, Day Of Disaster was announced around the Wii's launch. But now, there has been indefinite mention that the game will never hit the shelves!

There is no credible source, but, it seems believable. I mean, a year after it was announced we still don't much information about this at all!

The game looked promising. You played as a hero in a natural disaster stricken world. Screenshots showed that it looked very dark as you, a survivor, would fight against nature to save the world.
It is strange that the company behind it never revealed much, even though it's coming out in Japan soon.

Poll Results 1

The poll results are in.

It seems that even though bikes have grown in popularity, you still prefer good ol' karts. But the thing is- I can't say I agree.

Bikes turn quicker than karts, which is why I use them, but there are even more benefits. On straight stretches, you can do wheelies to get boosts.

I want to stick to karts, but I can't. I just can't...
Thanks for your votes!

[the world ends with you review is canceled]

Nintendo Halo

This would be the result if Nintendo made Halo. Such a hilariously nostalgic video that is great for a laugh!

Game References:
Pokemon Snap
Starfox 64
Pacman
Final Fantasy
Super Mario Bros

Metal Slug 7 for Nintendo DS

Meta Slug 7 is starting to look like Contra 4. But this trailer shows that it's even better (maybe)!
Without the large difficulty this could be some kind of improvement on the Contra style of game (why am I still talking about Contra)

WI-FI Night one

I have WI-FI. This explains why there were no recent updates.
But I can make up for it: Wonderful Nintendo is holding a WI-FI night on Saturday the 31st of May.
This is how it works:
-I give you my friendcodes for the games for that night.
-You give me yours and add me, and I add you.
-Post your friendcodes in the comments section of this blog if you would like to participate.
-Don't forget to tell me your online name and what game the code is for.

The time will be from 6 pm to 8 pm, but can go on longer if you wish. Your if you want to do the activity properly, you add as many of the people who commented below, and they add you.

This WI-FI night's theme is Mario Kart.

Mario Kart Wii: 1032 2070 4390
Mario Kart DS:

My Online name is Beauman or Beau.

Even after I stop playing you can continue playing.

Aussies don't get Brawl Last! (yipee!) (Repost)

Now it's official. Brawl comes out June 26th!

Before, the website Vooks said it would come out that day. But it wasn't entirely official, but now Nintendo have announced that it is!

Nintendo will release the highly anticipated Super Smash Bros.™ Brawl 26 June 2008. The first Super Smash Bros. for Wii™ is an action packed fighting game that includes more moves, more levels, online battles, Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, a variety of control options, a host of playable characters, and even an adventure mode that’s a full game in itself!

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a game play experience where characters from around the Nintendo universe meet up in Nintendo locales to battle it out. Choose from a number of iconic and new characters including Mario, everyone’s favourite plumber; Meta Knight, the sword-wielding nemesis of Kirby; Pit, the angelic archer from Kid Icarus™; Zero Suit Samus, the powerful Metroid® series heroine; Sonic the Hedgehog from SEGA®, and Solid Snake the solider from Konami’s Metal Gear series, among a host of others.

Jump and brawl your way through the Nintendo themed stages; pit up to four players against one another in a brawl to see who is the last one standing. Thanks to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection you can brawl with friends or strangers, share photos, swap replays, team up for challenging mini-games, and send custom made stages or screenshots to friends.

The adventure mode ‘The Subspace Emissary’ is a new mode for brawlers where you fight your way through enemy packed side-scrolling levels. Meet up with other characters, take on bosses, or even play two player cooperative. In this mode the world of Smash Bros. is invaded by the Ancient Minister and his army of creatures. The Ancient Minister is turning characters into trophies to harness their power, and eventually all the characters must work together to defeat the invading creatures. The Subspace Emissary is a fully-fledged game of its own!

Customise your Super Smash Bros. Brawl experience as you select your favourite Nintendo music to brawl to, and choose the control scheme that suits you best. Control options include the Wii Remote alone, Wii Remote with Nunchuk™, Classic Controller or Nintendo GameCube® controller, giving brawlers an endless amount of ways to play.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is an encyclopedia of Nintendo’s video game history; it’s a brawling, battling adventure that retains all the familiar features of the series, whilst bringing a variety of extensive new elements, ensuring infinite replayability.

The previous installment in the series, Super Smash Bros. Melee is the best-selling game of all time for Nintendo GameCube with 7.41 million copies sold worldwide.

Can't wait!!!

Viva Pinata development is (almost?) complete.

There is still no release date for Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise, but Rare says the game is now complete.

But if it's complete, why not a release date?

I think Viva Pinata should've been on the DS from the very beginning. A game like this just doesn't suit the 360's hardcore-ness.

Wii Ware Launched In America

Wii Ware has finally launched in the US and there are some great launch games to play with.
Well, it seems the only game I would want is lostwinds.

But it doesn't matter since I still don't have WIFI. But I'm probably going to get it sometime this week, which is when I'll do a (late) Review of the Mario Kart Channel!

Aussies don't get Brawl Last! (yipee!)

An unnamed source that is somehow reliable, has confirmed a release date for Brawl in Australia.
So Write this down kiddies, because the release date for Brawl in Australia is:
26th of June!
Yes, that's one day before Europe's release, but at least we get it before them.

But!

If this release date isn't real! All I can say is: Sorry.

When this date is actually confirmed by Nintendo, I will post another timer counting down the days to brawl, just like I did with Mario Kart Wii.

Apple Wii Remote?

Apple is apparently making a new Wii Remote- like remote for their new Apple TV. The remote even has the same accelerometer technology in the remote. But this was only seen in a November patent two years ago. It might not even hit the shelves.

Giant NES Coffee Table/Storage Space/ controller!

A guy named Kyle Downes has created this masterpiece!
It's a Giant NES coffee table and much more. It can be used for playing real NES games (!), or storing all your games. Here take a look:

For Info on how he built it, go to his blog: http://ultra-awesome.blogspot.com/.

He seems to have an Aussie accent!

New Kid Icarus (practically) confirmed

IGN's Matt Cassamasima, has recently said that Nintendo's big game they're releasing at the end of the year, is a new Kid Icarus on Wii.

"Of course Nintendo is going to have some E3 surprises. You know, Kid Icarus, for crying out loud, how many times do we have to say Kid Icarus? Kid Icarus is coming for crying out loud."

It's about time Pit had a new game. He's only had two before, but now since he was in Brawl, it seems that he's making his big return to gaming.

Long Live Wonderful Nintendo!

Fanmade 2D Metroid

This trailer shows a new Metroid game being made by a fan named Von Richter. The game will be Called Metroid: SR388.

I can hardly tell that this is fan-made! Aside from the writing that pops up (and the credits) this looks so legitimate!

I'm not sure what this will be on (SNES, Gameboy, or PC rom) but I want it!

Still Playing? (Mario Kart Edition)

What Mario Kart Games are you still playing?

Mario Kart's nature ensures that you'll be playing for a long time. But you eventually start playing less and less. And then you might stop.

In Mario Kart, every single race you do can have a different outcome, different items and different catastrophes. This is why we continue playing; Because it's never the same.

Replayability is the key. Play until you beat 50 CC cups. Then when you play again, beat 100 CC, and so on.
This might sound boring, but playing the same levels over and over again, can lead to the 150 CC Mirror cup.
The mirror cup changes all the levels by mirroring them. This forces you to forget all your strategies, all your previous knowledge of the courses.
"OK now I need to turn right" But you actually have to turn left!

Once you beat all of the different CC classes you should now have some unlockables to play with. And what better way to test them than multiplayer?!
The multiplayer is where it's really at. It's where races get even more random, but even more fun as well.

You could go back to any Mario Kart and enjoy it again just because of the multiplayer.
The frantic struggle for the finish line is great for a few laughs.

I am still playing Mario Kart Wii. I have beat 50 CC and 100 CC, I'm about to beat 150 CC.

New Cooking Game coming Down Under

The Australian Classification board has revealed that the Japanese DS game 'Cooking Navi' is coming to Australia.
Here, the game will be called 'Cooking Guide: Can't Decide What to Eat?'.

The Japanese version featured over 200 recipes and focused mainly on Asian Cuisine.
The game is basically an interactive Cookbook/ cooking tutor.

The game's release date has not yet been revealed.
