The Wii has been out for almost three years now and gaming has changed because of it. Back in the day (2006), we used to be incredibly amazed by waggle, and it's incredible future. We dreamed of swinging Link's sword in real life, or punching bowser in real life ( the exercise was just an extra).
Now motion control has become so commonly used it's almost sickening to play something for hours by just waggling. We've pretty much seen it all from Nintendo, so third party developers really need to step it up to impress us.
Flick the Wii remote to jump?! That's been done before!
Flick the controller to swing your sword?! That's been done before!
Although we are partly to blame for this. Wii sports gave us incredible gameplay showing us that we should swing the Wii remote wildly to have fun. But as gamers we found ways around this. We generally like to complete things for completeness's' sake. We found out the best and easiest ways to play.
Instead of swinging a tennis racket, we were swinging a ping pong paddle.
Instead of Punching someone in the face repeatedly, we were banging bongo drums.
It's only natural as gamers for us to automatically sit down and competitively complete everything.
Inserting motion control into a hardcore game might have the problems mentioned above, so let's Nintendo's new motion plus will find a way around it.
Motion is where I discuss my opinions and views or just point out relevant topics.
