Pokemon Platinum gets a site

Coming right after the news of dsi's release date this is pretty much overshadowed. But it is news nonetheless.

Pokemon Platinum is the latest Pokemon game that was only released in Japan and we've been waiting since around July or August last year. When your forced to wait for something you want it becomes less hyped, but this game has been praised for all the new things it brings to immensely huge Pokemon table (see what I did there?).

With this game release around the same time as GTA: Chinatown Wars (March 22) I'm curious to see which game comes up on top in the end.

GTA Chinatown Wars Screens!

New Details about the new GTA DS game have been released including screens!

"Due to hardware limitations, these details say the game will have an isometric camera angle and be a cel-shaded affair, complete with no load times. There will be dynamic weather effects and it's reported that draw distance and frame rate are sound. Liberty City will be scaled down quite a bit, though (and changed some), but there will be pedestrians and cars about, doing their thing. Oh, and there will be radio stations, although songs are going to be focused more on instrumental numbers."

As for controls, there will be an auto-targeting system that the player can utilize with the R trigger. They can also use the d-pad to aim and bust caps that way. There's also going to be "subtle" auto-steering for when you're in a car and players can use the touch-screen to navigate the in-game PDA, which will allow you to "email, contacts, the map, a music player, GPS, and stat-tracking (which allows you to upload stats direct from the game to Rockstar's Social Club website)."

And that's all that's been said at the moment. But from the look of these screens, I'm impressed!

GTA: Chinatown wars announced for DS!

This is the most exciting news I've heard all week!

Rockstar have announced a new GTA game for the Nintendo DS titled Grand Theft Auto:Chinatown wars.
"This is a game that will deliver a rich, fast-paced and intense 'Grand Theft Auto' experience that will be truly unique to Nintendo's handheld platform," Rockstar games founder ,Sam Houser said."Rockstar Leeds, along with the team at Rockstar North, has built upon a decade of progressive design on Grand Theft Auto, and has created something fundamentally fresh and immersive."

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is an entirely original entry into the critically acclaimed Grand Theft Auto series, and brings a new level of interactivity to its sprawling open environments. With the use of the DS touch screen, players will navigate their way through the streets as they uncover the truth behind an epic tale of crime and corruption within the Triad crime syndicate, delivering the unprecedented amount of depth that has become a true trademark of the franchise.

I'm almost speechless. I've mentioned on this blog before about GTA on DS and it seemed so unlikely! E3 is just getting more and more exciting!
