Nintendo E3 2009

It's that wonderful time of year again! Once again the Electronic Entertainment Expo delivered many surprises from all gaming companies. And one company that pretty much gave fans (almost) everything they want. Nintendo.
Head Past the break for full E3 coverage

Super Mario Galaxy 2

The biggest game revealed by Nintendo was once again explained to the audience, similar to the original Super Mario Galaxy.

The trailer sees the return of the Bee suit and more themed levels (snow, big things (left), etc.). But the biggest surprise was Yoshi's return! As seen in the trailer there will be many gameplay mechanics that can be used while riding Yoshi. It apears that when Mario is riding Yoshi, shooting star bits with curser is replaced with shooting Yoshi's tongue at enemies and hooks. Also shown in the trailer was a new suit that drills into planets.

New Super Mario Bros Wii

Also announced at E3 was the sequel to the very popular DS game of the same name: New Super Mario Bros.

At first glance it looks like a prettier version of the original, but the cooperative multiplayer component looks promising

Metroid: Other M
Nintendo announced another continuation of the Metroid Series with Metroid: Other M. The title is intriqueing. The whole game is intriguing actually. The game is being developed by Team Ninja, the company responsible for the Ninja Gaiden series. This change in direction definitely shows with a completely new look and art style, coupled with retro style gameplay (sidescrolling).

So E3's over. Most people were actually cringing at the thought of Nintendo's conference. I personally thought it was okay, but of course the main highlight for me is Animal Crossing City Folk (American Release date November 16).

Zelda Teams come together.

Miyamoto has mentioned that the two Zelda teams for Wii and DS are going to be working on a project together.
"the DS team is mixing in with the Wii team and working on the Wii version." Is exactly what he said. Now there could be much speculation about this news, will it be sequel to Phantom Hourglass or Twilight Princess, or will it be a mixture of both?!!!

I can't even begin to imagine what Nintendo is planning.

(it would be called Twilight Hourglass!)

E3 coverage

Wonderful Nintendo is the place to be for all the E3 coverage!

MUCH more to come!

Animal Crossing City Folk announced!

That's right it's Animal Crossing Wii!!! The video above shows so much new Animal Crossing footage!

In Animal Crossing City Folk you can actually visit the town! There's so much new stuff available to do, and even more exciting is (another freaking) new peripheral! It's called the WiiSpeak and It's something you just attach to the sensor bar and the person your talking to can hear everyone that's in the room!
Just watch the video, you wont regret it!

*yes I made a mistake but don't go on about it*

Wii Motion Plus and Wii Sports Resort

That's right it's a new Wii Device that makes the motion sensitivity even more precise! It's called the Wii motion plus and it's bundled with a Wii Sports sequel titled Wii Sports Resort.

The new Wii Sports game will include games like Dog Disc ( Throw a frisbee to your dog), Jet Ski (Jet ski around a course), and Sword Dueling ( battle with swords).

It's all here in this video.

GTA: Chinatown wars announced for DS!

This is the most exciting news I've heard all week!

Rockstar have announced a new GTA game for the Nintendo DS titled Grand Theft Auto:Chinatown wars.
"This is a game that will deliver a rich, fast-paced and intense 'Grand Theft Auto' experience that will be truly unique to Nintendo's handheld platform," Rockstar games founder ,Sam Houser said."Rockstar Leeds, along with the team at Rockstar North, has built upon a decade of progressive design on Grand Theft Auto, and has created something fundamentally fresh and immersive."

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is an entirely original entry into the critically acclaimed Grand Theft Auto series, and brings a new level of interactivity to its sprawling open environments. With the use of the DS touch screen, players will navigate their way through the streets as they uncover the truth behind an epic tale of crime and corruption within the Triad crime syndicate, delivering the unprecedented amount of depth that has become a true trademark of the franchise.

I'm almost speechless. I've mentioned on this blog before about GTA on DS and it seemed so unlikely! E3 is just getting more and more exciting!
